PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: TALKS ON COMMUNITY CENTER TRANSFER TO LIBRARY OWNERSHIP

Just a reminder that June 14th at 6pm is the public meeting at City Hall!

“NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING”

Please be advised that a public hearing will be held on Wednesday, June 14th at 6:00 p.m. at Homedale City Hall; 31 West Wyoming, Homedale Idaho.

The subject matter of this hearing is for the public to address the City Council’s declaration pursuant to Title 50, Chapter 14 of the Idaho Code that it is in the City’s best interest to transfer and/or convey without consideration certain real property to a State of Idaho tax supported governmental library district to wit: the Gypsy Jackson Memorial Library.

The gifted property includes: the Homedale Library located at 121 West Owyhee and it’s contents; Homedale Community Center located at 125 West Owyhee and the Original Homedale library which currently is located behind the Community Center.

The public is invited to attend and offer input.”

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Calling all Dungeons and Dragons Fans!

We would like to invite those who are interested to form a Dungeons and Dragons Club at our Library. We received this Dungeons and Dragons Starter kit from Idaho Commission For Libraries. This kit includes everything you need to get started. Please call or visit the library to reserve the game and our librarians can set up a game table for you!

Spring Book Sale

Come join us on Saturday, May 20th from 10:00-3:00 for our Semi-annual book sale that is part of the City-wide Yard Sale that will be taking place the same day! Come and look through our extensive collection of used books, DVDs, audiobooks, and more! We have thousands of titles to choose from spanning multiple genres and reading levels. We have collector’s books, kid’s books, non-fiction, mystery/suspense, romance, history, sci-fi, fantasy, and more!! All books are free but donations are welcome!! All proceeds from the Book Sale will be used to support programming and to purchase materials needed at the Library. Please come by and support your local Library and find some great new books for yourself!

After School Program: Corbin Maxey Reptile Show

Join us at our After School Program on Tuesday, May 16th at 4:30 pm. Special Guest Corbin Maxey will be visiting the Library and will bring reptiles to show the kids!

“Corbin Maxey is a nationally recognized animal expert, YouTuber, and television personality. He is most notable from his YouTube and TikTok channels, along with numerous appearances on “The Today Show”, “Late Night with Seth Meyers”, “Inside Edition”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Martha Stewart Show”.

Corbin has been surrounded by wildlife for as long as he can remember. He spent the majority of his childhood in the mountains of southern Idaho where he spent his days observing snakes, lizards, frogs and toads. He even developed an exotic animal collection, which included his first lizard named “Booger!” Corbin’s passion for all animals influenced his decision to commit his life to them.

At the early age of twelve, Corbin founded Cyprus Hill Reptile Reserve, a non-profit organization located in Meridian, Idaho dedicated to reptile rescue, conservation, and education.
